Motivation

We were tired of hearing bad news daily about violent incidents among the YOUTH, who think they can only make money in a negative way on the street or have to be tough to stand out. What we want is to offer them a new perspective by showing that they can also use their street mentality and creativity to take positive action to make money.

Straattie stands for all creative people and creativity on the street.

Think of: Street artists, street musicians, street dancers, street soccer players, street boys and the street language.

That's the mentality we want to promote in a positive way!

What we do is portraying street words in digital art pieces (NFTs). We then convert these into merchandise.

Slang

Street language brings the "sauce" into the Dutch language. This is the way of communication among young people. It has become part of the hip-hop culture. But how did slang originate? Street language is a combination of Surinamese words from Sranangtongoe (which is a combination of Creole and English) together with the Dutch language. Later, other languages ​​were added, such as Moroccan, Turkish, Papiamentu, Cabo. Spanish, etc.
